TeenScreen Physician Advisor, John Genrich, M.D., presented a webinar for medical professionals on the process of administering a mental health checkup in an adolescent health care setting.

December 15 Webinar: IOM Report on Preventing Mental Disorders
Mary Ellen O’Connell, M.M.H.S., study director at the Institute of Medicine (IOM) and National Research Council (NRC) discussed the IOM/NRC report: “Preventing Mental, Emotional, and Behavioral Disorders Among Young People: Progress and Possibilities.”

NIHCM Webinar: Adolescent Depression
TeenScreen National Center for Mental Health Checkups staff joined experts in adolescent and mental health to present a webinar, sponsored by the National Insitute of Health Care Management, titled: “Improving Early Identification & Treatment of Adolescent Depression:  Considerations and Strategies for Health Plans.”

Nevada Primary Care Training Event
The TeenScreen National Center held a Continuing Medical Education training event, bringing together Northern Nevada pediatric primary care providers to educate them about mental health checkups for adolescent patients. The training was sponsored by Senator Harry Reid of Nevada, the Nevada Office of Suicide Prevention, Douglas County Suicide Prevention Network, Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, and the TeenScreen National Center.
